The Case

Alluvium Coffee Company is a specialty coffee roaster from Vancouver, Canada, that believes high-quality coffee shouldn't be a luxury but an experience within everyone's reach, going all-in on premium Colombian coffee. The challenge was to build a brand identity, visual system, and packaging from scratch that translated the meaning of their name into a flexible, memorable, and cohesive language across every touchpoint—rooted in consistency, accessibility, sustainability, and community impact.

Our Solution

We approached water not as a landscape but as a texture: we studied how it changes depending on the vessel containing it and how light passes through it, synthesizing these patterns into vector graphics to create the brand's visual language. Understanding these graphics as a fluid, we imagined water drops tracing the silhouette of a coffee bean, and that is how we constructed the isotype. Based on this logic, we developed a generative logo suite, where each water symbol mutates and adapts to the layout of each version. The result is a living system that moves naturally across packaging, social media, merch, the web, and physical spaces, carrying that same spirit of something that flows, adapts, and never repeats the exact same way twice.

At Kiddo™ Estudio, we developed the brand identity, visual system, and packaging for Alluvium Coffee Company, a specialty coffee roaster in Vancouver, Canada. They believe high-quality coffee shouldn't be a luxury but an experience within everyone's reach, going all-in on premium Colombian coffee. It is a brand built on consistency, accessibility, sustainability, and community impact. Alluvium takes its name from water. However, instead of using rivers and currents as a visual reference, we decided to treat water as a texture that changes depending on the vessel containing it and how light passes through it, generating patterns that never repeat. We illustrated these light and surface effects, synthesizing them into vector graphics to create the brand's visual language. Understanding these graphics as a fluid, we imagined water drops on a surface naturally forming the shape of a coffee bean. That is how the isotype was born. From this same logic came the structure of the logo suite: a generative and flexible set of logos where each water symbol mutates and adapts to the layout of each version, while always retaining its core nature. The result is a living system capable of moving naturally across packaging, social media, merch, the web, and physical spaces—carrying the same spirit of something that flows, adapts, and never repeats the same way twice.
